Bicycle-Friendly Accommodation – Essential Requirements

1. Bicycle Parking: Provide a designated bicycle parking area that is monitored by staff or equipped with surveillance cameras, or allow guests to bring bicycles into their rooms for indoor parking.

2. Cleaning and Maintenance Area: Provide a designated area for bicycle cleaning and basic maintenance, including facilities for rinsing bicycles and washing hands. Used towels may also be provided for guests to wipe and maintain their bicycles.

Service Description: Each guest room at Mapleton Motel features a private garage space where cyclists can safely park their bicycles and carry out basic bicycle maintenance and adjustments. Each garage is equipped with a 110V electrical outlet for connecting electric bicycle tools or charging e-bikes. The driveways and other public areas are equipped with surveillance cameras, while the front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. Access by both vehicles and pedestrians is monitored and controlled for added security. In addition, water taps are installed on both sides of the garage roller shutter door, allowing guests to connect a hose and wash their bicycles in the grass-paver area directly outside the garage. Used towels are available upon request from the front desk for wiping and routine bicycle care. Guests who need to inflate their bicycle tires may also register at the front desk to borrow a bicycle tire pump free of charge.

When the breakfast service hours do not match the schedule of a cycling event, guests participating in the event may inform the front desk upon check-in and choose McDonald's vouchers instead of the regular breakfast arrangement. The McDonald's vouchers are treated as cash equivalents and may be used at company-operated McDonald's drive-thru locations throughout Taiwan to redeem breakfast, lunch, dinner, or any other meal of equivalent value. Mapleton Motel's standard check-out time is before 12:00 noon. Guests who need additional time to shower and freshen up after a cycling activity may request a late check-out at the front desk and extend their stay by paying an additional hourly fee.
