For overseas compatriots who have lived abroad for many years, returning to Taiwan is not only an opportunity to visit family and friends, but also a journey to reconnect with everyday life in Taiwan and experience its local scenery and cuisine. To encourage overseas compatriots to travel in Taiwan and promote domestic consumption, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) has long provided preferential services for overseas compatriots and invited legally registered businesses across Taiwan to join the i-Compatriot Card Authorized Store program, offering cardholders preferential rates and benefits for accommodation, dining, transportation, tourism, and other consumer services.
Mapleton Motel has been an Overseas Compatriot Card Authorized Store under the Overseas Community Affairs Council since 2019, and has continued to support the OCAC's efforts to serve overseas compatriots and encourage them to return to Taiwan for travel. In September 2022, the Overseas Community Affairs Council upgraded the original Overseas Compatriot Card to the new i-Compatriot Card. The card was developed from a consumer discount card into a digital card integrating preferential benefits, communication, and service functions, making it more convenient for overseas compatriots to access relevant services during their stay in Taiwan.

Cardholders who are unable to provide proof of valid i-Compatriot Card eligibility at check-in may not be eligible for the above authorized-store benefit.
