2018 Taichung World Flora Expo Partner Store Offer

In 2018, Taichung welcomed a grand celebration of flowers and urban culture — the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition. Held from November 3, 2018 to April 24, 2019, the nearly six-month exposition spanned three major exhibition areas in Houli, Fengyuan, and Waipu, bringing together flowers, nature, art, agriculture, and urban life.

The exposition was held under the theme “Rediscover Green, Nature and People (GNP)”, inviting visitors to reflect on the relationship between urban development and the natural environment through the three elements of Green, Nature, and People. Its slogan, “Listen to the Sound of Flowers Blooming,” encouraged travelers from near and far to slow down, reconnect with flowers and the land, and experience Taichung’s distinctive natural and cultural landscapes.

Fengyuan — An Important Stop of the Flora Exposition

Among the three major exhibition areas, the Huludun Park Exhibition Area in Fengyuan showcased the city’s rich cultural heritage and unique irrigation-channel landscape against the backdrop of a beautifully designed waterfront park. With a long history of development, Fengyuan has long served as an important urban center in Taichung’s mountain line districts. The arrival of the Flora Exposition brought visitors from across Taiwan and around the world to the city, offering more people the opportunity to discover Fengyuan — a place where cultural heritage meets the charm of a riverside floral city.

The Flora Exposition’s emphasis on sustainable development, cherishing the land, and respecting life closely reflected the values we hold at Mapleton Motel. During the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition, guests staying at Mapleton Motel could present a Flora Expo admission ticket or Flora Expo Card to receive an exclusive welcome gift. The gift was a bottle of Superbee Tasmanian Leatherwood Honey 250g, imported directly from Australia. Tasmanian Leatherwood Honey is harvested from the endemic Tasmanian plant known for its fragrant blossoms and was once selected as a prized ingredient by Arca del Gusto (Ark of Taste) in Europe.

A total of 1,000 bottles were prepared, available while supplies lasted.

Early-Bird Ticket Add-On

Guests staying at Mapleton Motel during the Flora Expo could also purchase the exposition’s “Early Bird” admission tickets for just NT$150 per ticket. The maximum number of tickets available for purchase was based on the number of guests staying at the hotel. A total of 2,000 early-bird tickets were available, while supplies lasted.

In addition, guests staying at Mapleton Motel during the Flora Expo period could participate in the official Flora Expo point-collection lucky draw organized by the event.
